Biomechanical Assessment

State-of-the-art technology for the very best diagnoses

At Feet Forward Podiatry we use the latest, state-of-the-art technology for biomechanical assessments. Our clinic in the Waikato is the first podiatry clinic in New Zealand to have the Zebris Gait Analysis machine which gives us – and you – an accurate impression of the biomechanics of your feet.

We can use it to assess why injuries such as heel pain, forefoot pain, shin pain, hip or knee pain are occurring.

How does the Zebris Gait Analysis work?

Using a high-quality camera and a force plate equipment situated underneath the treadmill belt, we can record the movement of your feet and detect different areas of high pressure, as you walk or run on the treadmill. It also allows us to compare different footwear to determine which shoe is right for you.

The analysis produces an elaborate and detailed colour report showing the different areas of pressure and the length and angle of both feet. Saved electronically, this highly advanced diagnostic tool is also great for children who need podiatry treatment. As children grow we can compare their reports to distinguish how their gait has changed with age.

This sophisticated machine gives us accurate information to treat the symptoms and leads us to the most appropriate and relevant podiatry treatment.
