Corns or Callus

Painless removal of hard lumps and bumps on your foot

Here at Feet Forward Podiatry we treat skin conditions, including cracked heels and hard skin on various parts of the foot. Hard skin and corns should be removed, and best of all, it is painless! If you have any concerns or questions do not be afraid to ask.

How can I tell if I have a corn or a callus?

A corn may feel like a “piece of glass” in your foot or feel as though you are stepping on a sharp stone. These are easily removed by your podiatrist, and will have immediate relief on exit of your appointment.

A callus is hard skin that also occurs because of high pressure or friction but is happening over a larger area. Calluses should be removed. It is important to prevent a thick buildup of calluses to avoid cracks and blisters appearing.

Causes may include:
  • Poor fitting shoes
  • Gait abnormalities
  • Toe deformities
  • Poor foot hygiene
