Heel Pain

Heel pain is painful and can be debilitating. At Feet Forward Podiatry here in the Waikato, we can assess if your heel pain is the result of wrong shoes or a more serious condition such as plantar fasciitis.

If you experience:

  • A sharp burning sensation in your heel in the morning
  • The feeling of a stone bruise when you walk
  • Improved symptoms during the day
Then talk to our specialist podiatrist, Wendy to find out what treatment we can offer.

How we treat heel pain

Heel pain can occur due to a multitude of reasons, which is why we biomechanically assess your feet with the latest technology. The most common diagnosis is plantar fasciitis, and sever's disease in children. Other possibilities include bursitis, nerve entrapment, or a number of other diagnoses.

The most efficient way we treat plantar fasciitis is with orthotic therapy and strapping. After a thorough biomechanical assessment we may suggest 3D laser scanning for your feet. This scan is then used to make a customised orthotic manufactured to your foot.
